I moved to Taiwan in 2018 to teach second grade at an international elementary school, and while I loved (and still love) working with kids, I quickly began experiencing the burnout that plagues so many teachers around the world.

​

At the end of my two-year contract, I began teaching part-time at a local elementary school instead, and dedicated the remainder of my time toward learning more about myself and finding ways to contribute more wholly to my students, myself, and my new community in Taiwan.

​

To my surprise (though not, apparently, to the surprise of people who know me well), this came primarily in the form of creating. I was soon diagnosed with ADHD, which helped explain why a traditional work schedule didn't work for me, and I began to revisit my old passions of crafting and creating. 

​

What started as a personal addiction to making stickers soon blossomed into a whole host of creative endeavors, and over the past two years I have experimented in many different mediums----including digital illustration, acrylic painting, sticker design, and so much more. I've begun participating in more and more community events around Taiwan, which I hope to do more of in the near future. And I've continued to enjoy the company of my little Scatterbrain community online and in real life.
